• You know what they say about rules…

A 23-year-old college student who got told she couldn’t wear a revealing outfit aboard Southwest Airlines sure knows. She went and put even less on Playboy. Just goes to prove, tell someone they can’t, and they’ll just make it worse. Anyone who told these people negative reinforcement works should probably have been shot. On the bright side, it gave me something to read while on this call…

  • And that’s why I didn’t turn the game on.

Rant about this morning’s hella cold to come later. But first, I slept through this, and I don’t regret it–apparently, the stink was bad. Not that there’s anything good about being on the 2 end of a 5 2 game, but… oh, my, lord. 19 seconds in and it’s already 1 nothing for Boston? I do have to ask, someone who actually watched the game–can you tell me if anyone actually showed up for our team? Anyone? Looking at the end result, I’m slightly inclined to say… um, hell no. And that pisses me off.

  • The Hilton effect strikes again!

Did she receive special treatment? Survey says… quite probably yes! Why else, after all, would miss Lohan spend a grand total of 84 minutes in a cell for a DUI charge that’d quite probably wind anyone else up spending a whole lot more? Even Paris, for all her moronicness and being the reason for the creation of a whole new category on here, spent nearly a month behind bars for the same damn thing. Where’s the fairness in that? And this be why I j ust have to say… only in America can you take a public shit and not get called out for it. Only in America.

  • Would *you* pay to tube?

Techdirt saves me from being completely and totally bored out of my frickin frackin mind! Talk of the prospect of paying for YouTube content has, quite possibly again, made its presence known. And to this, I can only say… um, why? If it’s on YouTube, it’s because people don’t *want* advertisements. Or maybe that’s just my messed up opinion–that’s a possibility, too! I know fer sure I’d avoid it like the plague if they stuck ads up there. Hell, I might be tempted to launch my own video site. Or at least get all my hillarity from BitTorrent. Kinda like I already do most of my TV watching. Oops, did I say that outloud? Quick, call the MPAA–lock me away before my horrible horrible influence spreads! Too late.

  • How does a man who’s opposed to the 1 hour lunch…

… waste time for the duration of a 1 hour lunch? Well, it sure ain’t on Facebook, as certain individuals who shall remain nameless would prefer it to be. Apparently… it’s dropping random blog posts about what to do on a 1 hour lunch. I… have nothing. I haven’t even seen me a stupid headline all morning. Gees… what’s a guy gotta read between calls? Other people’s blogs? *scoff*

  • Schedule my lunch at 10:30, will you? I’ll show you…

Ha. Got this call at 10:25 or so, and have so far managed to streetch it out to 11:00. Hopefully we can hit closer to 11:30… y’know, the actual lunch hour. And then I’ll only have 3.5 hours left of my shift. Suh. Weet. Who says I don’t know what I’m doing?

  • I take full responsibility for last night.

Not that it’ll teach me anything. A conversation I had with Mike via IM, I thought, might have marked a turning point in my Leafs luck. However, I had no sooner mentioned I thought my luck might be changing than Montreal, as they love to do, went and messed it all up by tying the game at 2. And then 3. And then beat our asses in OT. And me and my being too stubborn to just turn the thing off. Go figure? Possibly. And we were doing so well, too. And by well, I mean not sucking for a change. Oh well, on the bright side, had it been Toskala we may not have made it to overtime. What happened to him, anyway–I thought he was supposed to be good?

  • Maybe I live on the wrong side of the border to understand, but…

Is it really worth giving someone a detension and getting their parents involved just for hugging someone goodbye? I know it’s been a while since I was in highschool, but so far as I know that was still acceptible. Yes? No? Maybe so? Does someone living in the US want to maybe correct this apparently misguided young man? Any volunteers?

  • I wouldn’t mind seeing that proof.

Apparently, according to a recently published study anyway, this here federal government of ours is adicted to temps. Which, also according to this here study, hurts… just about everyone else’s chances of getting their foot in the door. Of course, to this I have only to say–uh, no, not really. Work experience in general hurts that. I should know, I thought about applying for a government job… that’s part of the reason why I’m working at Dell. So, while their efforts to do what they’re good at and overstate the obvious are appreciated, in my honest opinion they’re just the slightest bit off the mark. Besides, Trish rather enjoys temping. Like I’d vote to take that away from her.

  • And sometimes, you just have to be amused.

As much grief as I tend to give the OC Transpo folks, occasionally, I’ll come across something that almost makes me wish I ended up getting that particular bus driver more often. Of course, if this actually did happen on one of the routes I take on a nearly daily basis, there’s a very good chance I have–the only bus driver on that route I ever heard singing, though, was some foreign dood who has the unfortunate predicament of being a Montreal Canadians fan. But, it’s a distiinct possibility. Just one minor gripe, though–he does not have the voice for the song he chose to sing. Either that, or I’m just biased against that song after hearing the original. That’s a possibility, too. Worth investigating. Later.
